THE READING FOR THE YEAR 2012

This year marks another departure in the Reading of the Year. For thousands of years, in a more simplistic time, individual ebbos worked over long periods of divination. Such is no longer the case. Today, as documented in the monthly Icofa readings, which sometimes showed a single ebbo, but more often carried multiple offerings, the same has proved even truer with the Reading for the Year. It is virtually impossible to use single orisa energy to protect, or guard against, misfortune over a 12 month period. We have carefully divined what combination of orisha is necessary to totally accomplish the goal. That is the difference between this year and others that preceded it. Each ebbo is matched to contain the ase’ of, and include ALL that is necessary to, compatibly unite the Orisha necessary for the task.

Ifa is a Living philosophy. It has adapted through the years so that it always retains the underlying ancient truths, while identifying how we can manifest them today! That has been the Foundation’s strength through the years, so that ideas that were once considered heretical are now being adopted by others.

As we correctly predicted here, last year, 2011 was one of…the MOST difficult and challenging years in memory! 

This year could be quite different!

After more than a quarter of a century in reading the upcoming year, certain things have become quite evident.
Most important, has been the way the philosophy has dealt with how to approach the solutions of each specific forecast. But more on that later…

2012 comes Ire

This is an Odu which indicates that we must all be taking the initiative to deepen our connection to the energy of Orunmila (Arula).  This is the energy that is directly connected with “knowing”.   Orunmila (Arula) is the energy that we, as Ifa Priests, connect with for the wisdom and knowledge we need to focus on. This year is the year to be using this. This is the year that we must listen closely to what we need to know for making our next move.  We need to engage in the use of higher levels of knowledge. This is a year where one must do what they can…to elevate their life on a material as well as spiritual and emotional level. We must then take another step in and be more assertive about using that which we know deep inside and applying it to our daily lives.  

This Odu speaks of taking more of a leadership role in your life and becoming more responsible by using the wisdom and knowledge of Orunmila (Arula) as a point of focus in our daily lives.  It is a call for us to be more proactive and tap into our male side to accomplish what we need.

There is the underlying current that things will be “different” this year, but “different” in a meaningful and important manner. (Different with a long-term view).  If what you are looking for is a return of the value of your home or an economy propped up by banks and loan sharks or to put your life into situation where you will have to work two jobs and never see your kids or others that matter…then this year is NOT for you.

But, if you are looking for being proactive in building a world where your talents, abilities and love all have greater meaning… then this is definitely the year for you!

Irete being on our practical everyday side of the Odu matrix will have a special meaning for the Ifa Priest as well.  This will be the year they can do more with their abilities and direct more people to the 7th largest philosophy in the world through taking more action by doing their everyday work…nothing extraordinary, but all within the structure of the Ifa world-view.   For those that are not Ifa Priest, now is the chance to do the right thing…with great character.  Now is the time to seize the opportunity and apply yourself more in creating a life that will bring together all the success that will ultimately deliver peace of mind.   Apply yourself more…put more into it.

It was the accumulation of the departure from this world-view that eventually caused the upheaval of the previous year.

You see…when we start thinking of fixing a problem with the short-term view… of making things work now and repairing them later…it does eventually catch up to us in our lives with various degrees of negative impact.  Each of you that may have moved that way in the past has added a small momentum to the Universe. When hundreds of thousands are acting in the same way, the end result will be the rebellion of the planet! The insults begin to warn us with floods, earthquakes, climate change, political unrest and an ever increasing rise in anger between those few that have profited and those who have not. Stop deviating from what you know is the truth.  This year is an important year to be more in touch with your knowingness.

Obara calls for both the Ifa Priest and the non Ifa Priest to be more pro-active in using their connections with Orunmila…with a stronger focus on using what they have in their emotional/spiritual side of their Ifa work. This is the important factor of continuing to take all those who have correctly re-evaluated their lives and provide them with the help, energy and continued direction until the shift necessary as the planets’ energy rights itself. It is also a call for helping those who have not arrived at that conclusion, or have not figured out the way to cope with an apparently hopeless situation. It is not…Not if you listen! What we just endured in 2011 taught us many valuable lessons as well as brought experiences, which allowed us to grow if taken on with a mature mindset.  We need to use what came from life’s lessons now!  Apply more pressure to move your destiny path in the direction of all the new opportunities 2012 will give us to explore.


The solution for getting the most from 2012, is something a bit different than subsequent years. In the past Ifa Priests would respond to the vagaries of the upcoming year with specific offerings. Frankly, the world has become too complex for simple solutions. In today’s complex world it takes a symbiotic creation of certain forms of energy to properly deal with diverse situations. This year is no different!

The year starts with the Primary Force of Orunmila (Arula) and its relationship to two primary energies.  These energies are Esu (Ellegua) and Obatala. These three Ifa matrixes have been combined into forming one potent source that will be the most important ebbo of the year. Together, they are designed to provide you with the guidance and direction for the roadmap of this New Year, as well as provide you with what you need to form the necessary picture of the whole into the pathway of the Irete Obara Odu in 2012…unlocking and securing your position inside the doorway for greater success throughout the year.  We will include with this ebbo a very special ritual with Ela to put everything into action for you.

The indicated offering to Esu supports that Opportunity, in the context of OseTura  (the sacred odu which brought Esu (Ellegua) into existence) is key to Orunmila’s everyday actions; and Obatala, with the indication of Ogbe, for uniquely forming the important insights for what is needed in our  Emotional/Spiritual responses and activity.

This will direct you towards the areas necessary to bring you and your family the energies to elevate your opportunities for the knowledge you will need to employ to ensure greater success for the coming year. A special staff that encompasses this complex ebbo will be created from the rituals of your New Year offerings.  The ase from the rituals will be placed into the staff and shortly afterwards your staff will be shipped to you so you can begin personally triangulating with the alignment created on your behalf.  They are each unique in their design as they are made from elements of nature.  One example is shown in the photo below.  We will include instructions on how you will be able to work with your staff and stay connected throughout the whole year at the highest level possible.

Success

For this years big picture view, determined by the 2012 New Year reading, it has been revealed that what will align you, strengthen you and support your success for the year is a combination of rituals to the energy matrix of Osun (Oshun), Oya and Aje. (Wealth Aje).  We will be creating a very special connecting tool, encompassing all three energies working symbiotically, for you to work with throughout the year. 

The golden egg gourd that will arrive after your ceremonies are complete will contain the ase from the rituals performed in your behalf.

Protection

For this years big picture view, determined by the 2012 New Year reading, it has been revealed that there is a requirement of the combination of the Orisa energies in the domain of Esu (Ellegua), Sigidi and Ogun.  A special triangular vessel will be created and contain the ase from your specific rituals for your personal use during the entire year of 2012.  This will encompass protection for your person, your home and your loved ones.

It took several years for the Truth to permeate through my own views of Ifa. Frankly, that was too long, but for those who believe that the only way the tradition works is to mimic that that was done before, in the exact way it had always been done, this will be a hard shock to swallow. Just as they took years to do long distance phone and internet readings, this will take some time to settle in. You don’t have to wait.

In today’s world we are ALL faced with physical harm, with health issues, and with the problems of being successful in our business and life …the difference is that the simplistic solution, which worked fine for thousands of years, no longer made sense. Today, there are literally thousands of reasons that any of us will face difficulties or blockages. The urban gangs, corporate mergers and too damned much food are just three of the thousands of pitfalls that can lie in our individual Destinies.

What we have done is divined for the energies necessary to cope with all of that which can disrupt our path. Sometimes it will require just one or two of the energies indicated…others will require the full force of all three entities. What you can be sure of is that, in this way, the Orisha have you covered!
