Ifa was created by the most educated, intelligent and wisest men and women of the Yoruba culture. In its inception, its proper practice required education, wisdom and understanding. It's discovery of Natural Laws ( original Science ) allowed individuals to throw off the fears and inconsistencies that shackled their growth. Superstition was out ---Original Science was in!

Yet, as the incipient destructiveness of the Western world's mechanistic truths were forced down the throats and souls of dozen's of more thoughtful, more reasoned, more philosophical cultures, and a change began to take place.

As the Western World elevated Cartesian Science to supremacy, and relegated Original Science to the basement of Superstition, the demographics began to change.

The educated, thoughtful and intelligent individual felt uneasy with any truth that the Laboratory couldn't endlessly replicate. And the technology and toys that the West offered in trade for this new thinking were too alluring to resist. So, these previous practioners, and leaders, of Ifa became Westernized.and thought of the great Truths of Ifa as out of date superstitions. Charming perhaps, but with no real relevancy to their lives.

Who was left? Some with genuine Wisdom remained. But, too often, leadership fell to those less educated, less thoughtful.

Now that increasing numbers of the educated, successful and intelligent Westerner's are seeing their marriages fail, their heath deteriorate, their mental and emotional stability surviving by Prozac instead of reason, a new change is taking place. As they look around at a Planet that is running out of Water, Rain forests, Species and Ozone Layers, they are beginning to question the West's view of Supremacy. They are beginning to understand that the pieces MUST be considered in relationship to the Whole.they are re-visiting Ifa.

It is the Ifa Foundation Of North America's goal to return this most thoughtful, most intellectual, most consistent of all major world philosophies to the level of those that created it.to the intelligent, wise and educated.
