One of the most common questions asked during divination is: " Has somebody done some work on me?" What the client is seeking to find out is whether or not their bad fortune, ill luck, relationship or job problems are related to some kind of negative energy, spell or witchcraft being done to them by another person. And, in those cases where negative energy is an issue, they want the sacrifice or ebbo to be performed to free them from this cloud that encompasses their life.

There are two critical issues that must be addressed here.and each must be considered separately.

First, let's look at the whole issue of Spells, Witchcraft etc.

The Universe is composed of Energy. Every living thing, and every facet of Nature, is made up of specific Energy. As a Perfect construction of Oludumare (God), the Universe contains ALL possible energies.both Positive and Negative. It is this Negative Energy that comprises the thrust of Spells, Witchcraft and Work done to harm other people.

While Ifa teaches using Energy to achieve Balance, there are those who, for their own personal gain, power or madness, make the conscious choice to use Energy to create imbalance, rather than balance, in other individuals. Some of these are Priests. As Priests they have developed a greater expertise in the use of energy, and so they are likely to cause more disruption than the natural negative energies we all face on a daily basis.

It is important to realize that each of us face Negative energy everyday of our lives. It doesn't have to come from the hands of someone who specializes in using energy in negative ways. The driver you inadvertently cut off who then pulls next to your car and gives you the finger, is conveying negative energy; the waitress you admonish for slow service is more than likely to generate negative thoughts regarding you, the demanding customer; the child who wants one more ice cream and feels deprived by your discipline projects negative thoughts at you, regardless of whether you are parent or teacher. Each and every day of our life we face this negative energy and MUST learn to deal with it.

Here then, is the second part: How will you choose to deal with it?

There are tens of thousands of individuals who, preconditioned by the malevolent world view of Christianity and Judaism (where we are always in a contest between Good and Evil), feel the only way to cope with these energies is by seeking the help of " The Priest." So, even when they leave Christianity or Judaism, they have been trained to seek the help of "the Practioner" to rid them of the Negative energy that are unsettling their lives. And, God knows, there are more than enough Priests out there, with the same pre-conditioning, plus the added incentive of the money involved, to attempt to help them. And, it works.but only until the next piece of negative energy turns their lives upside down once again.

A holistic physician friend will examine someone, find they have a strept throat, prescribe an antibiotic, and THEN ask: "What's going on in your life that you allowed yourself to become sick?"

The same is true in our field. Certainly, you may need a sacrifice to rid yourself of the negativity, but what's the imbalance that made it possible to affect you?

Here is where you have a critical decision to make: "Will you live your life in constant fear, in continual need of the help of someone else, with a world view that makes you a victim, or.

Will you understand the never-ending chaos of that system and begin to work on making yourself stronger, more balanced, so that the negative energy can no longer affect you?

Ifa teaches that growth. Ifa teaches you to empower your life. Ifa teaches you to learn to work with the energies of the universe so that you are immune to everything from road rage to Palo! Trust me, it's true. If it weren't, I wouldn't be here 27 years later! There were many skilled Priests who swore they would destroy me and my family because of what we taught. I hesitate to consider how many roosters, hens, or cows tongues were placed in Prenda's in an attempt to achieve this. Yet, today, after more than a quarter of a century of studying Ifa, our lives, our work and our Foundation continue to prosper.

Was it because these priests with all their negative energy were inept? No. It is because of the way the universe is meant to work. Nature seeks balance.not imbalance. By learning how to achieve that balance within yourself, you provide the solid brick house to the huffing and puffing of the Big Bad Wolves out there. In so doing, you may grow, love, share and fulfill your Destiny.

Ultimately it is the only way.
