The NEW "Ola Olu Retreat"

We would like to introduce you to the Ifa Foundation's new Ola Olu Retreat: The previous retreat in Bloomington, Indiana, had been created with loving care, and enormous energy, over an eight year period. The sacred Orisa Garden's were the only ones in the United States.and open, at no cost, to any who wanted to experience their energy. There was only one downside.because of the harsh Indiana winters; the gardens were accessible only seven to eight months a year.

For several years we had discussed transferring the Foundation's activities to a warmer climate. Finally, after many trips, and a great deal of exploration, we settled on an area in central Florida. This area would provide visitors easy, and inexpensive access, via Orlando. It also provided us with an area for more closely replicating the tropical Orisa garden settings of Africa.

Our new Ola Olu is set in nine secluded acres of lush land and waterways. It offers the absolute peace and tranquility that major ceremonies and initiations so desperately need. Unlike the basement or garage initiations so many (including ourselves in the distant past) have experienced, the process is one that benefits enormously from taking place in the pure calm and peace of a Natural setting. After all, Ifa is a Nature based philosophy, and the energy is best felt, embodied and learned in a setting without televisions, car alarms, sirens or noisy neighbors.

Here are a few candid shots of our new Ola Olu:

Sacred Grove: Filled with areas such as this Sacred Grove, it offers the absolute beauty and power of nature (the Orisa) at their finest.

Our new Inu House: (Inu literally translates to 'the womb') is set on stilts, nestled into the trees, and looks out over the woods and water. It is here that initiates will live and study
A view from the Inu House deck: The property contains an exquisite natural lake embodying the energy of the Orisa of water. Another View of the Lake: Looking towards the water from the Inu House.
Path to the lake: Another view of the private lake and Small Island at its center View of Lake: A close-up of the thousands of lilies and lotus that adorn Yemonja-Olokun!
