Ifa Kids PDF Print E-mail

Hey I'm Darq-amber
I am an Ifa kid,
I was initated Yemonja when I was younger, later on I became an Iyanifa priestess.
My parents escorted this path into my life,
and I am happy they did.
Ifa is a very rewarding path,
If you work hard and do your best at learning it
Your life will ultimately get better.
The true friends I have deal with it's around the house oddities (the Orisa, staffs and all that live with us ).
The ones who couldn't take it;
are no longer in my life.
My parents brought the whole 'kids column' idea up to me this past weekend
I wasn't too excited about it....
But now it's growing on me
some might say like a bad fungus =)
Over the years I have seen so many people come and go.
And most of the good ones remain.
I say good in the term that they worked hard and practiced everyday.
Praying, giving offerings, altars, and the actual studious part of the religion.
I make it sound hard, but it really isn't!
Some classify my religion as 'weird'
therefore calling me weird.
Weird is just a name to call the unknown.
I move act and speak like a 'normal' person.
I just have a better more fulfilled life.

Ifa has helped me through my many tough experiences
Including my current experience.
Some may call it 'Heartbreak'
I call it 'Expected'.
Boy troubles... Of course!

Anyways...
I don't particularly like the ceremony part of it...
I don't go down and watch, but I do send my 'Ase'
The choices is ultimately yours if you do want to go down and participate in the ceremonies..
It is good to give it a shot.
I tried, and I am still not up to it.

Ifa has many wonderful aspects..
And as it might be right for your parents..
It may not be right for you,
I recommend trying it though.

There isn't anything to lose.
And trust me, there is a lot to gain.
Benefits...
Benefits...
Benefits...

I would love to hear from you…maybe we could start an Ifa Space here like My Space…

Hey miguel!
You said you have lost your way since recieving them...
It's ok, as long as you get back on track!
There are many life tests that we undoubtedly have to go through..
My advice is just to work with the orisa and practice everyday the teachings of ifa.
Thattttt will most likely bring you to a great point in your life.

Sincerely

Darq-amber

Hey there, my name is Alejandra Ramirez I'm 14 years old, and recently I have been really getting into my dads religion. I had started it about 8 months ago, but i wasn't really into it, like my dad was. Soon until I experienced something for myself, I really got into the religion. I have learned many things from my dad, but I want to get initated Oya. My dad wont let me because he says I have to learn more. He wants me to learn more about all the orisha's, because I really only know about Oya since she is my orisha. My dad is so much into the religion he is, how do you say it, a Babaloa. I'm not really sure how to spell it, but you understand my point. This religion is really weird to my friends and people that hear about it, and most of the time they say I am crazy. Its okay, cause they don't know what they are missing. I have learned so much, and gotten so much help. I really want to take that one step, but I guess I have to wait just a little more. I will be able to someday. My dad says its a good idea to get initated, because he says you get in a way more benefits, but I would really like to see your point of view. Well I hope we could become friends even so, so I guess I hope to hear from you soon!
